An established NGO operating in Bahrain with programmes across South Asia approached DBes Techno with a digital fundraising challenge. Despite having hundreds of regular donors, their online presence was minimal — a static website last updated in 2020, no online payment capability, and no donor management system. Most donations arrived via direct bank transfer or in-person cash, making donor tracking, tax receipting, and impact reporting extremely laborious.

Design: Trust as a Design Principle
DBes Techno's design team approached the project with trust as the primary design objective. Every design decision — from photo selection guidelines to copy tone to colour choices (trustworthy blues and warm humanitarian ambers) — was evaluated against the question: "Does this make a potential donor trust this organisation more?"
The website features documentary-style photography from programme implementation sites, transparent breakdown of how donations are allocated (percentage to administration vs direct programme costs), and real beneficiary stories (with appropriate privacy protections) that connect donors to the impact of their giving.
The Donation Platform
DBes Techno built a custom donation management system integrated into the website, featuring:
- Stripe integration for card payments and Apple/Google Pay
- Recurring donation management with donor self-service pause/cancel
- Automated PDF tax receipt generation and email delivery
- Donor database with full giving history and communication preferences
- Impact dashboard showing fund utilisation in real time (updated monthly by staff)
- Campaign-specific donation pages for emergency appeals
Results — 12 Months Post-Launch
- Online donations: +400% vs year-prior (bank transfer/cash now minority of total)
- New recurring donors acquired: 340 (zero online recurring donors previously)
- Average donation value: +65% (higher-value donors comfortable with card payments online)
